The History of textile

Succesfull Interior fabric company mainly specialised in antique and modern textiles, antique carpets, antique and modern curtains and drapes, antiquities and rare's collector's items, craft workshop and historic warehouse.

In the downtown core, "Calderan Company " born in Turin around the middle of 1800's as artisanal manufacture for the processing of textiles as, for example, velvet, damascus, lampes, wall hangings etc...

The historical and elegant shop, opened in 1936 in Via Cesare Battisti, 2G, by the Carignano Theatre side and by the central Via Roma side, its historic and fully stocked warehouse, by Contardo Calderan and his wife Lidia.

Nowadays "Calderan's Company is fully operational due to fis owner, Mr Gianfranco Stella, who's been working for nearly 46 years, enough that customers still remember when he was a fourteen years old boy, whom is renowed for his ability to maintein unaltered the history and the beauty of fabrics and art's objects of virtue both in Italy and abroad.

Gianfranco Stella is an expert in major refurbishments of any textile , both antique and modern in museums, classic old buildings, mansions and private villas and apartments.

Premium original rugs of fine crafts mainship, precious ceramics and fine porcelain and old bronze statues are exposed in the historical store of Via Cesare Battisti, 12 with its unmistakable scent of antique textiles...
